Other Included Databases

Pronto includes several other databases for use in data entry and data analysis. Many come pre-loaded with data, but all are user modifiable.

  • Numeric Variable Library. Includes the variable name, units, range of normal and abnormal values and text description.
  • Alphanumeric Variable Library (string variables). Includes the variable name, default choices and text description.
  • Text Variable Library (text variables). Includes the variable name, default choices and text description.
  • CPT Code Library. Includes a listing of CPT (billing codes), a code descriptor and text description.
  • ICD Code Library. Includes a listing of ICD9 (diagnosis codes), a code descriptor and text description.
  • Cross-tabulation of CPT and ICD Codes. Users can ask Pronto to display lists of approved ICD Codes (diagnosis codes) based on the CPT Codes (billing codes used). Pronto can also check reports for proper CPT/ICD coding prior to locking.
  • Database Lists. Allows definition of some choice lists used throughout the database.
  • Device Manufacturers. A database of device manufacturers and devices used for patient service (ex: PTCA balloons, cardiac pacemakers, etc.).
  • Drug Library. A library of drug names with the possibility of linking to the information sheet database (see below).
  • Service Area Library. Pronto refers to area of specialized service as a “Service Area”. A Service Area is usually defined whenever highly specialized resources need to be scheduled. Small office-based practices may setup only a single Service Area, but larger practices and hospital-based groups will definitely want to setup multiple Service Areas. Examples include separate Service Areas for Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Cardiac Catheterization and Clinical Cardiology. Each Service Area has its own user definable procedure lists (complete with pre-defined CPT coding), report style (including headers & footers) and database of finding/conclusion phrases and staff database.
  • Visit Table Library. A database of user-defined tables used in report generation. Examples include tables for the Bruce Stress Protocol, Dobutamine Stress Protocol, etc.
  • Data Table Library. A library Data Table templates in provided in Pronto to be used in client records. Templates can include table formatting, pre-entered data and database elements.
  • Picture Library. A database of user-defined default pictures for use in visit-reports. The picture elements may be stored within the main database or at a remote location (preferred). In the case of the latter, web-based SOAP communications are used to access the picture library.
  • Users & Security. A password system for access to Pronto and for assigning privileges.
  • Address Book Library. A database of referral physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Insurance Library. A database of insurance providers and plans. Includes contact information and allows the collating of visit billing with providers.
  • Information Sheets. A library of information sheets for patients and healthcare providers. The information sheets can be linked to records in the drug library or used independently (like for patient procedure instructions).
  • Consent Form Library. A library of consent forms to be used for clinical and research purposes. Includes information sheets for patients and other healthcare providers. Allows other healthcare providers the ability to search for appropriate studies for their patients. Completed (signed) consents are also stored for QCI and research.
